Unlike non-clumping litters, a clumping litter traps nasty odors in the box, keeping your home smelling fresh. Clumping cat litters designed so that urine and feces can be removed easily from the box without having to empty the entire box. Most contain a material known as bentonite that allows the litter to form a nice solid clump as the litter absorbs the liquid.
While clumping litters are generally considered safe for cats, it's best to avoid using them until your kitten reaches 4 months old. Clumping litters made from natural ingredients like corn, wood or nut hulls may be safer for kittens, but could still cause gastrointestinal upset if ingested.
HOW TO USE:
If scooped daily, the remaining litter will not need to be discarded. Once you have removed, the clumped litter simply add fresh KITTY SAND. Clumping Cat Litter as needed to maintain a depth of at least 8 cm.
CHANGING TO A NEW LITTER
If you decided to change the cat litter from one type to another type, your cat can be confused, it can lay down in it, refuses to use, but nothing is wrong:
Step 1: your old (previous) cat litter mix 2/3 (75% old & 25% new) with the new one, be patient to 3-5 days
Step 2: Mix 50%/50% and again wait for 3 to 5 days,
Step 3: 25% old and 75 % new- well, you almost win
Step 4: completely change for the new cat litter! Our cats never disappointed us and STEPS 2/3/4 were always missing in our story!
DON'T FORGET
To use rubber gloves and always wash your hands after handling soiled litter. Parasites sometimes found in cat’s feces can cause toxoplasmosis during the pregnancy or in people with a weaker immune system. Always take care of your family!
